MTFC Chair Jamie Hughes and MYFC Chair Stuart Slater sign the agreement to confirm the coming together

Marlborough Town Football Club (MTFC) and Marlborough Youth Football Club (MYFC) have come together to create a seamless ‘5 to 105’ football organisation in Marlborough. A ceremony to sign the agreement took place in the now-shared Elcot Lane clubhouse on Monday (13 November), marking the association and a formal way forward

Club Chairs Jamie Hughes (MTFC) and Stuart Slater (MYFC), pictured seated, commented on the amount of work by both clubs to reach this agreement, which has taken place with great spirit throughout. It means players can start their football at age five with MYFC, then play for both clubs in a transitional period aged 16-18, and then play senior football for MTFC aged 18+. Finally, after a healthy football career, it’s back to MYFC for walking football…!

Of note, with 550 youth players overall, MYFC has recently reached the fantastic milestone of 200 girls, who can transition into ladies’ football as seamlessly as the boys can transition into men’s, including plans for joint coaching aged 16-18 to assist this journey into senior ranks. More than this, the association is a fundamental shift from separate clubs to a single home of Marlborough football, serving the community with a shared passion and ethos.
