Football has been played in the town of Marlborough since the 1880s, when a number of Marlborough clubs played on the area of grass now known as The Common.

Demand for a proper club to represent the town was high, around the turn of the 1900s, and on July 5th 1904 Marlborough Town Football Club came into being, founded by William S Bambridge.

In recent years, Marlborough Town has worked enormously hard to create a strong link with Marlborough Youth and in the last 48 months we can happily say we have been able to achieve this.

From this we are supporting over 500 youth players in their journey to adult football. Therefore Elcot Lane has now proudly become home to both of these clubs and will continue to build a strong relationship for all involved.
